Daily Work Life Balance Could Well Be Improved By Working From Home
I am positive we all know the quote “nobody goes to the grave saying they wished they had spent more hours at work” and yet a number of us feel the necessity to spend so many hours away from family and people we love in favour of the office.
We would seem to be becoming a “coat on seat” culture where it is important for our bosses to see our coat on our chair when they arrive at the office, and it is still there when they depart. We must be enthusiastic to be working so many hours. Actually these hours are probably not all industrious. If we are most concerned to be seen to be doing something, we may not actually be doing anything valuable.

When you take into account the many hours spent driving to and from their work and it is really not unexpected that people are exhausted. They are very likely spending half of each week day either at work or getting there, which does not leave much time to enjoy with family and friends. When the weekend comes all they want to do is sleep and chill.
In this situation, family life can be affected. Partners are missing out on quality time together and can think they are losing the support they require. Youngsters are aware that there is no time to take them to clubs or for treats, and assume they are missing out. It seems a no-win position for everyone.
